I'm thinking of taking some steps to reclaim posting everyday.
I'm considering using the Scraps folder to post works-in-progress, posting doodles to the usual Gallery folders, and finished pieces I quite like to the Featured Gallery folder. (...now that I've finally figured out that all my uploads aren't obligated to go to the Featured folder. #^.^#; ) Besides, I'm beginning to miss the notes on all my pieces, that Deviant Art's uploading process always forced me to make. Time passes, and I forget what mediums I used, or thoughts I had about improving my techniques, or even just jotting down ideas. I need to return to Deviant Art.
I'm also thinking of focusing daily posts onto my Tumblr blog for artist alley: mysticdragon3.tumblr.com I had mentioned my art journal blog (md3artjournal.tumblr.com) before, for daily uploads. But not only has that petered off, but I'm also beginning to think that my artist alley blog is the one I should be constantly posting to (from a business standpoint) instead.
So this new plan will hopefully get me to post everyday again. Not necessarily to Deviant Art, but at least daily. Then maybe once I get the hang of that, I could add Deviant Art posts to my daily regimen.

spamming my Artist Alley Products folder
I've decided to just haphazardly upload a bunch of my primary artist alley products without much description or cataloging. Usually, it takes me forever to post anything to DeviantArt because I have to fill out that form and I always make a record for myself of everything I fill that form with (in case anything crashes/stalls, which does happen semi-frequently). But convention season is approaching and artist alley managers are going to be looking over portfolios. And mine is so out of date. I understood my last rejection in 2018. Because if you looked at my DeviantArt Gallery folder "artist alley products" back then, you'd think I made
2009 vs 2019: 10 year challenge
Look at that. 10 years and no change. x_x;
So I’ve been thinking about this for a while, maybe since December 2018, so maybe that makes this my new year’s resolution for 2019: I’ve been considering giving up art. I was telling my brother this past week that I’ve been trying to “make a living” as an artist since late 2011, and I just haven’t been working hard at it. I don’t have an online shop, I’m too afraid to take commissions after all the horror stories I’ve heard, I’m not comfortable promoting myself, and I’m too anxious to sign up for more conventions’ arti
personal progress finding my art style
On 2/8/2018, I woke up with another idea to work with my irrevocably flat drawing style: thin linework in the interior; thick outline on the exterior.
After continually coming up against a wall in improving my skills of portraying 3D, I’ve just had to concede that my art style is instinctually flat. “Graphic”, as my art college called it. So I’ve been looking for ways to take advantage of my flat style, lean into it, and really embrace it. But nothing has really worked so far. Because even though thick lines usually work for making flat things look cute (like in Powerpuff Girls, or many chibi art), my drawings ju
rant on misconceptions of The Anime Style
I'm disappointed, artist I subscribe to on YouTube. Calling anime a "dead end" because of the artists "having to repeat someone else's style". For shame. How narrow minded. It's the same criticisms by art professors who I keep hearing, berate their students for their interest in anime and the "anime style", simply because they have only scraped a superficial understanding of anime.
Anime uses a "language" in their character designs. In the same way poets can use couplets or iambic pentameter, anime character designers are thrust into a library of pre-existing symbols. It's evident in the common set of artistic shorthands for emotio
